Day 1 / Sat. Arrival to Guatemala
Private transportation from airport to hotel in Antigua
45 min. Antigua will be your home
base as you travel. safe to leave extra bags and items
at the hotel. Overnight in Antigua.
Day 2 / Sun. Chichicastenango and Lake Atitlan /
Panajachel - 7.00 a.m.-3.00 p .m
7:00a.m.- Shared tourist transport from your hotel in
Antigua to Chichicastenango (2.5 hours).
Founded in 1541, Chichicastenango chichi is the most
colorful open air market in the Mayan world. Shop for
colorful hand made native textiles, masks etc.
2:00 pm - Shared tourist transfer to Panajachel (45
min.) located on the shores of Lake Atitlan,
Panajachel. "Pana" is one of the worlds most beautiful
volcanic lakes surrounded by several small Mayan
villages. Overnight in Panajachel.
Day 3 / Mon - Lake trip 8.30 a.m.-3.30 pm.
8:30am At the public dock, locate the public boat you
will use for the day to visit 3 of the
Mayan villages on the shores of Lake Atitlan - San Pedro
de Laguna, Santiago Atitlan and San Antonio Palopo. YOU
CAN DECIDE TO VISIT ALL 3 OR SOME OF THE VILLAGES -
PURCHASE YOUR BOAT TICKETS AT THE DOCK OR IN ADVANCE AT
YOUR HOTEL (EASY TO DO !) - There is enough time
at each village for you to explore the local crafts and
to experience the "flavor" each village/pueblo has to
offer. Afternoon return to Panajachel.
Overnight in Panajachel.
Day 4 / Tue- Panajachel at leisure
An opportunity for you to spend more time in the area
hiking, walking, shopping or visiting the local nature
reserve (across from the Hotel Atitlan).
9:30am, 12:00pm or 4:00pm – Shared tourist
transportation from your hotel in Pana to your hotel in
Antigua (2.5 hrs.) . Overnight in Antigua.
Day 5 / Wed. – Antigua & Tikal (8:45am – 7:00pm)
Choose from several options with Guide including some of
the following activities / tours: Coffee tour, Village
tour, Weaving Co-operative, Macadamia Nut farm, Ruins of
Antigua Walking tour, Mayan Music Museum… (9:00am -
1:00pm)
2:30pm – Shared tourist transport to International
Airport in Guatemala City (45min.)
5:00pm – Flight (1 hr) to Flores with TACA airlines (FAA
approved)
6:00pm – Arrive Flores - transport (45 min) to hotel
located in the located in Tikal. Overnight
in TIKAL.
Day 6 / Thurs. – Tikal (9:00am – 8:30pm)
After Breakfast at your hotel (included),
Enjoy a group tour of Tikal. – Visit the main ruins
of Tikal and learn of the Mayan history while climbing
the temples and viewing the exotic birds and monkeys of
the area.
The ruins of Tikal are not to be missed or forgotten!!!
Small LUNCH is included .
4:00pm – Shared transport from Tikal to the Flores
airport (45 min)
6:45pm – TACA flight Flores to Guatemala City (1 hr)
7:20pm – Shared transport from airport to hotel in
Antigua (45 min)
OVERNIGHT in Antigua.
Day 7 / Fri. – FLIGHT DEPARTURE FROM GUATEMALA
CITY
When ready, private transport from hotel in Antigua to
International airport in Guatemala city (45 min) in time
to catch your flight home.
